Medical Care Quality Evaluation Using the Fleet Marine Force Medical Information System

Abstract

The Fleet Marine Force medical information system should include provisions for evaluation of the medical care provided for all echelon levels. The care provided in the immediate period after an injury can determine likelihood of survival or extent of disability. Recent advances in trauma scores that could be applied in the field can greatly enhance capabilities for evaluation studies, epidemiologic research, and disease surveillance.
