Artificial Intelligence/Robotics Applications to Navy Aircraft Maintenance.

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to develop a data base and methodology of assessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) robotic applications to Naval aircraft maintenance. The research was conducted in three phases: Survey of AI/Robotics, AI/Robotic Opportunities and Design Concepts, and Cost-Benefit Methodology. Chapter II of this report presents a summary description of the AI/Robotic technologies that are relevant to Naval aircraft maintenance. The detailed survey of AI/robotic technologies is presented in Appendix A of this report.
