Abstract

State-of-the-art technology regarding the structural dynamics of various fiber reinforced composite structures is presented in 43 Conference papers. Of these, only 4 are of direct interest to Plastec. The effects of vibration or acoustic fatigue on the life of the structures and bonded joints was investigated in most of the papers. Frequencies considered ranged from seismic to laboratory loads. Materials of interest to Plastec are stainless steel fiber reinforced concrete (used for buildings) and graphite fiber reinforced epoxy composites (used for aerostructures). Other areas of potential interest are wave propagation in track, bridge, beam, plate and panel structure; and the damping of these waves. (LS-PL).
