Guidelines for Investigating Malpractice Claims - A Claims Officer's Perspective

Abstract

A brief guideline for the new Claims Officer on how to investigate medical malpractice claims. From the vantage point of a former base Claims Officer, it provides a practical description of the investigation process, including tips on interviewing physicians and preparing the 7-point memorandum. It contains frequent references to actual claims investigated by the author.
