Architectural and Functional Design of an Environmental Information Network.

Abstract

A review and evaluation of distributed data base management systems was undertaken to avail enhanced access to and use of computer resources for the environmental assessment process. A concept refinement was developed for computer-to-computer interfacing of environmental quality data with existing assessment models. Five developing data base management systems were reviewed for applicability to a proposed environmental information network.
