The Battle of Marathon: Darius the Great versus Miltiades.

Abstract

This report compares and contrasts the strategies of Darius the Great of Persia and Miltiades, the Greek general, during the Battle of Marathon in 490 B.C. The battle and its major participants are examined in the context of the ACSC Strategy Process Model. This indepth analysis of both sides of the battle studies the external factors that contributed to the outcome of the battle as well as the tactics employed by the opposing armies.
