Alexander the Great: A Strategy Review in the Context of the ACSC strategy Process Model

Abstract

This paper analyzes the strategy formulation of Alexander the Great using the ACSC Strategy Process Model. It breaks down Alexander's conquest of Persia into National Objectives, Grand Strategy, Military/Political Strategy, and Military/Political Tactics used. It looks closely at the political strategy and tactics used as well as the military strategy/tactics in order to show the close coordination needed between each to achieve Alexander's objectives.
