Investigation of Rapidly Solidified Ni3Al-Based Alloys.

Abstract

The addition of one atom percent boron to Ni3Al makes this otherwise-brittle alloy ductile. Rapid solidification also makes it strong. The effects of boron concentration, Ni:Al stoichiometry, and quaternary element additions were studied and are reported. (Author)
