Night Evaluation of a Radio-Luminescent Pistol Sight.

Abstract

A proprietary radio-luminescent handgun sight procured from Nite-Site, Incorporated, Rosemont Minnesota, 55068 was evaluated, using 13 shooters from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps on a variety of targets. The shooting was conducted with 9 mm Model 92S Beretta pistols with and without the proprietary sights. The course consisted of ten electronically controlled and scored targets laid out in and about an abandoned building. Firing range varied from 14 to 150 feet. Scoring was based on time required to hit each target. There was some inclination in the data which tended to favor the night sights but there was no statistically significant superiority.
