Update to the Free Floating Two-Dimensional Extensible Cable System Model (FF2E).

Abstract

The Free Floating Two-Dimensional Extensible Cable System Model (FF2E) was modified to account for velocity dependent drag forces on surface floats, non-linear stretch characteristics of cable, and true current versus depth calculation relative to the 90% ocean current profile. Two new subroutines incorporating interpolation schemes for empirical data have been added to the program. A third subroutine has been modified to allow direct calculation of current versus depth when the 90% current profile is used. (Author)
