Research and Crystal Growth on High Dielectric Constant Materials for mm Wave Applications.

Abstract

This program has as its major aim the growth of single crystals of ferroelectric materials for mm wave device applications. The material requirements for this application are a high dielectric constant and low losses. Large non-linear effects are associated with ferroelectric materials operated in the temperature range just above or just below the Curie point Tc, and materials such as BaTi03 and KTN have been evaluated for possible applications in phase shifters and other devices in the mm waveband.
