Distribution of Personnel by State and by Selected Locations, FY-83

Abstract

Information is reported to WHS/DIOR by the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the military departments, and Defense agencies. These data provide statistics on the number of active duty military and direct hire civilian personnel by operating location in the United States, with operating location defined as the geographic location where personnel are located for the performance of work. This report is divided into two sections. In each, the information is presented according to Defense components, which include the military departments (Army, Navy, and Air Force) and the category 'Other Defense Activities'. This latter classification includes the following DOD components: (1) Office of the Secretary of Defense and Related Activities 1; (2) Defense Audiovisual Agency' (3) Defense Communications Agency; (4) Defense Contract Audit Agency; (5) Defense Intelligence Agency; (6) Defense Investigative Service; (7) Defense Logistics Agency (8) Defense Mapping Agency; (9) Defense Nuclear Agency; (10) DOD Dependents Schools; D) Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
