National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Bladens River Dam (CT 00602), Naugatuck River Basin, Seymour, Connecticut. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The Bladens River Dam consisted of an earth embankment section, a concrete buttress spillway section, a rubble concrete gravity spillway section, and an intake structure for a downstream forebay. The overall length of the dam is approximately 330 feet and the maximum height is 20 feet. The dam was classified 'Small' in size, with a 'Significant' potential hazard. The range for the Test Flood of a 'Small-Significant' dam is the 100-year flood to 1/2 the PMF. A test flood equal to 1/2 the PMF was selected. (Author)
