National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Lake Rohunta (MA 00012), Connecticut River Basin, Athol, Massachusetts. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam consists of a central 46 foot wide concrete spillway flanked by earthen embankments. The western embankment has a length of 250 feet and the eastern embankment has a length of about 280 feet. The dam has a size classification of intermediate and a hazard classification of low. The dam is in generally good condition. It is felt, however, that certain items which are generally normal maintenance and operational procedures need attention. The spillway will pass only 12% of the test flood outflow; the embankment will be overtopped by 3 feet.
