Abstract

This student report presents a comparison of strategy used by Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman during significant campaigns of the American Civil War. It traces the evolution of, and influences on, each general's strategy in terms of the Air Command and Staff College Strategy Process Model. Also included are biographical sketches of Grant and Sherman.
