Age Discrimination and Other Equal Employment Opportunity Issues in the Federal Work Force.

Abstract

This report responds to a request that GAO determine whether Federal employees are being treated in a manner free of age discrimination. GAO agreed to concentrate on the following four issues: The system for processing discrimination complaints. How age complaints are processed in relation to complaints dealing with race, sex, national origin, or other discrimination issues. The severity of age discrimination in the Federal work force. Occupational exemptions from the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
