Optimal Ship Routing and Personnel Assignment for Naval Recruitment in Thailand.

Abstract

Two problems related to the Royal Thai Navy's recruitment effort are modeled and solved by mathematical programming. The first problem is the optimal assignment of draftees to branch naval bases, which is formulated as a transportation problem. The second problem is the optimal routing of ships for transporting draftees from the branch bases to the main base, which is solved with an exact integer programming formulation. (Author)
