Computer Operations Study of Reservoir Operations for Six Mississippi River Headwaters Dams.

Abstract

The study used the HEC-5 computer program, Reservoir System Operation for Flood Control and Conservation, to evaluate the operation plans for the six headwater reservoirs -- Winnibigoshish, Leech, Pokegama, Sandy, Pine and Gull -- on the Mississippi River in northern Minnesota. Reservoir operation rules are established for each plan based upon the desired plan objective. Ten operation plans are evaluated. Originator supplied keywords include: Hydraulic models, and Computerized simulation.
