Officer Training School Selection Algorithm.

Abstract

An application of the policy-specifying technique was used to develop a selection equation for the Air Force Officer Training School. The composite policy of representatives of seven Air Force agencies was modeled mathematically to produce a 100-point rating that is the synthesis of values from 13 selection factors. Tests using both simulated and actual case data revealed that the equation is an accurate model of Air Force policy and that the equation can successfully rank-order OTS applicants in a reliable and clearly specified manner.
