The Role of Finite Parallel Length on the Stability of Barium Clouds.

Abstract

A simple model is used to show that the finite parallel length of ionospheric plasma clouds can affect the growth rate of striation instabilities (e.g., gradient drift). The finite parallel length of plasma clouds tends to favor the growth of striations with short perpendicular wavelengths. (Author)
