Abstract

The dam at Shoe Pond, Beverly, Mass., is a 17 foot high, 250 foot long earth embankment with a concrete core wall. The dam is in fair condition. The dam has been classified in the 'small' size and in the 'significant' hazard categories. A test flood equal to 1/2 the PMF was used to evaluate the capacity of the spillway.
