A Virial Equation of State Option for the TIGER Computer Program

Abstract

This report describes a truncated virial equation of state option for the TIGER computer program which computes the thermodynamic properties of systems of gases, liquids and solids. The second virial coefficients of the ADDED EQUATION IS BASED ON Lennard-Jones (6-12) intermolecular potential, whereas the third virial coefficient is derived from a simplified rigid sphere approximation. This report provides an outline of the derivation of the pertinent formulas and a listing of the added subroutines. The listing contains numerous comments that may be useful for a preparation of other gaseous state equations for the TIGER program.
