An Exact Solution to the Two Point OC (Operating-Characteristic) Curve Determination.

Abstract

The determination of an operating-characteristic (OC) curve which passes through two arbitrarily selected points is a well known problem in statistical quality control. Ordinarily this problem cannot be solved exactly as the solution sampling plan must be defined by a non-negative integer couple (n,c). In this paper a randomization process is defined for the acceptance and rejection of all lots. Within this randomization process the two point OC definition problem is cast as a linear program. Employing the traditional solution and the LP solution, a procedure is devised for an exact solution to the problem. (Author)
