Combustion in High Speed Air Flows.

Abstract

The overall objective of this study is the analysis of reacting multiphase flows in advanced air-breathing propulsion systems. This work involves the formulation and evaluation of new theoretical descriptions of multiphase turbulent mixing and chemical kinetic phenomena in subsonic and supersonic air flows, and the generation of new experimental data on these phenomena. Topics studied include: Spray Modeling; Modeling of Boron Combustion Processes; Modeling of Ramjet Combustion Processes: and Modeling of the Ducted Rocket Combustion Process.
