Downstream Stockton Study; Investigations at the Montgomery Site, 23CE261.

Abstract

The Montgomery Site (23CE261) was tested in November 1976 and is located on a meander loop of the Sac River in the Western Prairie Region of Missouri. Collections from the site include over 100 projectile points ascribed to a Dalton or Early Archaic occupation. Burlington Formation chart seems to have been preferred in their manufacture. The site is interpreted as a series of small discrete units. Excavations have established the significance of the site as an important component for study.
