International Weapon Blast Overpressure Experiment.

Abstract

Blast overpressure measurements were made at the Defence Research Establishment Valcartier (DREV), Quebec, Canada, 10 to 20 October 1984, at positions near: (a) 105-mm L5 howitzer firing charge 7; (b) 84-mm Carl Gustaf antitank weapon; (c) 110-gram bare spherical charge, 25.2% RDX, 58.8% PETN, 16% inert, (d) 410-gram bare spherical charge, 25.2% RDX, 58.8% PETN, 16% inert. This report describes the measurements made by US Army Combat Systems Test Activity (USACSTA). A complete report describing all measurements made by the five teams representing the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom will be prepared by the Defence Research Establishment Valcartier. During this test, large gage-to-gage variations were noticed in the USACSTA transducers. These variations were present only in the first 200 microseconds of the measurements.
