The Plasma Assisted Modified Betatron.

Abstract

It is shown that the presence of a very tenuous background plasma can improve the performance of a modified betatron with respect to the problems of injection, diamagnetic to paramagnetic transition, and resistive wall instability. Several physics issues relating to this background plasma are discussed. Originator-supplied keywords include: High current accelerators.
