Distribution of Average Particle Diameters for Three Lots of Nitroguanidine as Measured by the Fisher Sub-Sieve Sizer

Abstract

Three lots of nitroguanidine were sampled extensively and tested with the Fisher sub-sieve sizer (FSSS). The population of FSSS average particle diameters (APD) were determined for each lot. The components of variance (within-a-drum, between drums, and error variance) were determined for each of the lots with analysis of variance (ANOVA) techniques. In addition, the FSSS test method itself was subjected to ANOVA techniques to determine the components of variance (variance due to technicians, variance due to plug and tube sets, and an estimate of the error variance).
