Evaluation of the Birdstrike Threat to the F-15 Present Fleet, Rapid Deployment Force, and Dual Role Fighter Transparencies

Abstract

The information contained in this report is developed form analytical and empirical techniques used to establish statistical models for evaluating the birdstrike threat to the F-15 aircraft transparencies. Consideration is given to two areas: (1) the operational impact rate for specific aircraft usage profiles, and (2) the probability of a random birdstrike which could result in penetration of the aircraft cockpit.
