Fundamental Studies on MPD Thrusters.

Abstract

The major goals of this work are to determine erosion rates and the limits of diffuse mode operation. Major accomplishments of the first year include: identification of a new mode of onset , identification of a nondimensional flow scaling parameter, a proposal for an improved design, and prediction of an anode thermal instability.
