A Decision Model for Selection of Microcomputers and Operating Systems.

Abstract

A framework for the construction of an economic analysis model is suggested for the selection of microcomputer hardware and operating systems. The model is suggested in order to guide a prospective Navy microcomputer systems. The model is designed such that common spreadsheet software programs can be utilized to manipulate the model and store data on available systems. In addition, comparisons are made of current popular microcomputer systems and operating systems, in order to provide a frame or reference for the use of the model.
