Surgical Tooth Implants, Combat and Field.

Abstract

Long term implant studies of alumina tooth roots are being performed on both humans and baboons. The implants designed for this project are a single root rectangular design with serrations arranged for maximal stress distribution of occlusal loads. The implant is of a three-piece design. The serrated root portion is alumina ceramic. The upper two parts of the implant (post and core and crown) are conventional dental materials, usually gold.
