Obstacle Planning Simulation (OPS): Introduction and User Instructions.

Abstract

User instructions are given for the Obstacle Planning Simulation, Version 1.1, a PLATO-based video game developed for the U.S. Army Engineer School to teach combat engineers how to employ obstacles effectively. In Phase 1 of the game, the student employs limited engineer resources to fortify and defined a Brigade defensive position. In Phase 2 the student becomes a passive observer as an enemy mechanized infantry division attacks the defensive position. Combat results are displayed throughout the battle. Originator-supplied Keywords include: Training devices.
