Cooper River Rediversion Project. Lake Moultrie and Santee River, South Carolina. Proposed Interagency Cooperative Monitoring Program, Summary of Agency Proposals.

Abstract

Purpose of this report is to provide a summary of monitoring requests for the Cooper River Rediversion Project recommended by participating agencies to be conducted under a proposed interagency monitoring program. The report is developed for appropriate consideration and subsequent action by the Steering Committee. The purpose of the monitoring program is to collect information in selected areas of interest: (a) to determine corresponding net project effects for comparison with previous predictions and (b) to use as a guide in estimating impacts and determining monitoring requirements for other large national projects. The report contains the monitoring requests, including justification, furnished by the various participating agencies. The requests were screened, prioritized , supplemented with other information by the work groups and submitted to Charleston District Corps of Engineers for report preparation and distribution. The requests are categorized into six pertinent areas of interest - hydrology, water quality, fisheries, wildlife, sedimentation, and vegetation.
