Evaluation of Industrial Liquid Waste Plant Design at Holston Army Ammunition Plant. Phase I. Part 1

Abstract

Design of the Industrial Liquid Waste Treatment Plant (ILWTP) at Holston Army Ammunition Plant has been assessed with respect to removal of conventional pollutants and inorganic nitrogen. Computer simulation of the ILWTP, supported by some very preliminary operating data, indicates that the Facility will meet NPDES criteria for BOD and nitrogen, and that is capable of sustaining any expected upsets without exceeding permit criteria. Originator- supplied keywords include: Activiated sludge; Denitrification; HMX; Munitions; RDX; Simulation; TNT; Trickling filter; and Wastewater.
