Topics in Optical Materials and Device Research - III. Volume 1.
Abstract
This report provides a partial summary of work accomplished in four diverse areas associated with optical materials and optical signal processing. Chapter 1 describes experimental techniques used for the evaluation of a substrate (polycrystalline indium phosphide) which is used in optical signal processing devices. The effect of various crystal growth procedures on the semiconducting properties of indium phosphide is summarized. Chapter 2 describes attempts to experimentally isolate the origin of the photorefractive effect in the important photorefractive material, bismuth silicon dioxide. Chapter 3 describes an optical technique for unidirectional light, switching. Originator-supplied keywords: Infrared devices; Electrooptic substrates; Optical signal processing; Data acquisition; Calculators; and Optical equipment.
