A Brief Review of the Technology of Microemulsions and Other Micellar Systems.
Abstract
The literature on micellar systems has been reviewed, and this report summarizes the results. The formation and characteristics of microemulsions, micellar solutions, liquid crystals, association polymers, etc., are discussed, and mechanisms and properties of emulsifers are reviewed. Basic studies of emulsifier chemistry for water-in-fuel microemulsions and association polymers for antimist fuels are being conducted in this laboratory.
