The Pump Sump Research Facility Microcomputer-Controlled Data Acquisition System.

Abstract

This report describes the design and implementation of a microprocessor-based, 64 analog channel, instrumentation quality, portable data acquisition and reduction system which was developed for the pump sump research facility. The system controller is a Zilog Z80A microprocessor with 74,000 bytes of memory. The pump sump project is discussed with emphasis on hardware and software. Three programs of this continuing project are presented, one of which produces run-time plots as data are being acquired. New mathematical algorithms for interpolation, filtering, and statistical analysis are introduced.
