Deployment Area Selection and Land Withdrawal/Acquisition. M-X/MPS (M-X/Multiple Protective Shelter) Environmental Technical Report. Wastewater Analysis.

Abstract

The areas of the United States chosen as potential basing sites for M-X are located in arid regions, and because of this, water is considered an important resource. Thus, any disturbance to water or to the systems for diverting and transporting it to present users could generate considerable impacts. Indirect water impacts, those produced by construction or operations personnel, or their dependents, in-migrating to a community, and others drawn by employment in new service industries required to support the population influx, are discussed. This report also addresses the problems of increased volumes of wastewater, including wastewater generated at the construction camps, operating bases, other M-X facilities, and the increased flows in the surrounding communities.
