Water Quality Management Studies. Postimpoundment Study of Okatibbee Lake, Okatibbee Creek, Mississippi. May-September 1977.

Abstract

During this study from May through september 1977; the physico-chemical and biological status of Okatibbee Lake and the area streams associated with it were investigated in the water column and sediments. Intensive sampling and analyses focused on 6 main stations in Okatibbee Lake and 14 stream sampling stations. Additionally, parameter-specific sampling and analyses was conducted at numerous other sites in the system. Sampling and analytical methods are summarized and a review of results is presented. The discussion section deals with the current chemical and biological conditions of Okatibbee Lake and Creek and the changes which have occurred since impoundment.
