Intensification of Tropical Instabilities.

Abstract

Important progress has been made in two fronts. SAIC has finished the study of the influence of horizontal and vertical wind shears on the development of tropical disturbances. Second, a new computational method has been devised for economical integration of geophysical fluids with barotropic components. The two reports describing these studies are attached as appendices to this report.
