Acousto-Optically Addressed Fourier Transform Matched Filters.

Abstract

Matched filters made using the Vander Lugt technique are addressed using an acousto-optic beam deflector with good correlation signals resulting. This method may be used to address arrays of matched filters at high scan rates thus providing the large optical memory necessary for absolute object recognition and discrimination in a variety of applications.
