Management of Eurasian Watermilfoil in the Columbia River Basin.

Abstract

A recent concept in aquatic plant management is to implement a management program before a problem aquatic plant population creates adverse impacts on water uses. This approach requires a procedure for early detection and subsequent treatment of pioneer problem aquatic plant populations. This report provides an overview of treatment techniques used in aquatic plant management and economic, environmental, and social factors to consider when choosing an appropriate technique for managing Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum L.) in the Columbia River Basin.
