Stochastic Rearrangement Inequalities.

Abstract

The authors develop a unified theory for obtaining stochastic rearrangement inequalities. The authors present sample applications in ranking problems, hypothesis testing, contamination models, optimal assembly of systems, and stochastic versions of well known rearrangement inequalities. Keywords include: hypothesis testing; partial ordering; total positivity; positive set function; arrangement increasing.
