Solid State Compressor.

Abstract

Pennsylvania State University has continued their basic ceramic material studies but has been unable to fabricate complete high performance drivers. APCI continued testing and modifying the one cell simulator. Work was also done on fabricating elastomers and designing a one cell prototype compressor. CeramPhysics analyzed the drive characteristics of the three cell simulator and achieved a 2:1 compression ratio with the peristaltic compression mechanism. We believe that the single cell prototype compressor which is being designed will demonstrate the feasibility of building a closed cycle J-T compressor which incorporates the solid state compressor concepts.
