Research on Composite Materials for Structural Design.

Abstract

Summarized are research activities related to advanced fiber reinforced plastics in the areas of fracture, delamination, distributed damage, residual stresses, moisture effects, and toughening mechanisms in elastic and viscoelastic materials. Also included are abstracts of the six M.S. theses and one Ph.D. dissertation completed during the project period. The Appendix contains full papers and additional abstracts of work done on the project. Additional keywords: Resins, Adhesives, Fracture(Mechanics), Structural mechanics, Polymers. (Author)
