3D (Three-Dimensional) Sensor for Adaptive Suspension Vehicle.

Abstract

This report describes the operation of an imaging optical radar system which measures the range to every point in its field of regard. The system is designed for use on the Adaptive Suspension Vehicle walking machine to provide local terrain 3D imagery for analysis to determine foot placement. The design specifications, system tests, measured performance and example imagery are presented. Keywords include: Three-dimensional imaging, Optical radar, Laser radar, Vision sensor.
