An Apparatus for Sizing Particulate Matter in Solid Rocket Motors.

Abstract

A light scattering apparatus to measure particle size (D32) in a solid rocket motor was improved. Multiple consecutive scans of two photodiode arrays were accomplished with a pacing circuit and added memory. The device was calibrated using various suspended particle samples and found to make accurate measurements.
