Abstract

This is the ninth Base Structure Report. It is an Annex to the FY 1986 Defense Manpower Requirements Report. It will identify, define and group by mission and by region the types of military bases, installations and facilities and will provide an explanation and justification of the relationship between this base structure and the proposed military force structure together with a comprehensive identification of base operating support costs and an evaluation of possible alternatives to reduce such costs. The base structure is identified in the Fifty States, U.S. Territories and Possessions and foreign overseas areas. Listed in the report are installations and activities which can be directly related to the force levels of the Military Services.
