A Three Dimensional Inextensible Lifting Membrane Wing-Experimental Results

Abstract

The results of a wind tunnel test program on an inextensible semi span membrane wing are presented. The wing was of triangular planform of 9.8 aspect ratio. The tests were run at a Reynolds number of 600,000. Observations and aerodynamic data were obtained for several wing configurations of camber and washout. The report presents the experimental data with a discussion and interpretation of the results. Originator-supplied keywords include: Aerodynamics, Lifting surfaces, Membrane wings, and Membrane structure.
